Hey there, i am traveling so i am sadly forced to try and game on my macbook for awhile. I downloaded Wine and wine bottler, got it to work with a few games the past couple days, then today i tried it with darkfall. I was able to get to the char select screen press play, and then hear that oh so sweet splat. Im able to take about 2 steps before it just boots me, no error, the game just closes.

Now after doing some googling i found that when a game gets EAC, welp thats it for any mac user trying to play that specific game on wine.

I am wondering if you guys have found any work around for this besides biting he bullet and buying a new windows key for my macbook.

 

I believe we are still working with EAC to help Mac/Linux users be able to log in.

 

@Bloodscar Do you know if there is any ETA on that?

Also thanks, so basically i did everything right its just 2 pieces of software that dont like to communicate ? Because like i said i was able to log in for about 5-10 seconds before the game just closes no error no crash log report in the wine console nothing.

I had to mess around with different direct X 9 distributables to get my character to log in, took a couple of installs. I just want to make sure its not me fudging something up with the setup on my end. Im assuming since i can get into the game, its installed correctly.

I guess that means yea its upto you guys to make it so people with macs can use the workarounds available to us to play window games.

Ill be back at my main desktop by the end of the month but id like to atleast change my meditation while i cant log in, is there an ETA for the offline meditation like they had in DF1?

 

Don't have an ETA but i know the EAC guys are working very closely with the devs to get the issues fixed.
