just wondering how things are going right now with these towers? so hopefully meaningfull sieges may be happening again Also the f2p options for steam?
Some Assets are complete ahead of this but implementation is behind markets. Initial tests of the persistent dynamic placement system will take place with some structures after markets, followed by the rollout of the control tower system. That's more or less the plan in a nutshell. Free to play is going to change in the next few months, it's going to be an update going in with other game changes but the timing isn't finalised yet. It is a priority though, planning has been going on for a while.
Persistent dynamic placement it will be for housing too? Because I love it and I think that will give a new life at this game! Please do it!
intresting.. i do hope that the map will be interactive then.. visually players need to know what territory they control
A political map layer for territories and whatnot will be added most likely, it's not been discussed much recently because it seems pretty standard but the exact final implementation for it will be decided while we're programming the territory control in likely.
I heart all this . Thanks BPG also, kilrath...now the secret is out, I shall park my keep right by your cottage
Well that's a crystal ball we don't have heh. Markets and hopefully the test feature for dynamic placement of persistent structures will be in within a month. Territory control will likely take 4-6 weeks at least depending on QA feedback, bugs, technical challenges, etc etc. It's very hard to say because the scope of the feature has grown a lot and implementation may be split over a couple patches.
i think these adjustments togther with f2p are crucial to get a decent pop back to the roa. if the territory control patch get implemented the only that dont make sense any more are the portal all over the world. Suggestion is to adjust to portals in a logic way; meaning portals from cairn to mainland or crain to niffl for example.. Simple connecting long distances of island and mainlands.. rather then portals that port you 2 tiles
Agreed. F2P will definitely attract some attention. I hope territory control also adds in some holding upkeep so inactive clans cannot keep several. That was a pretty big problem with DF1.
Yes that is planned to be a part of the system, as well as benefits to encourage people into linking territories instead of global separated holdings that portal chambers caused. There will also be mechanics to encourage clans to expand member counts while expanding territory as if minimum numbers for territory size isn't met there will be increases in upkeeps. We don't like hard limits on players activities but a soft-cap will help prevent tiny groups controlling massive amounts of Territory.
