There are more important benefits from stats than health. Also, no destro would/should use a health enchant when a slash/pierce/fire/lightning enchant would be far more valuable. Stat enchants cap out at 9? with a q5. Not worth the investment. Ultimately, if you were unable to cap health without the enchant, it would be an indirect buff to mages.
Not really because mages have the exact same HP as destro's. Slash/Pierce/Fire/Lighting WERE more valuable prior to the HP drop. Now a Q4 Health Bonus will take you from around 400 to 420 hp and you can still have 3/4 of the other enchants. Health Bonus/Vit/Bloodcraft were entirely POINTLESS with the old HP system. Up to you if you want to keep a stamina efficiency or sacrifice another protection enchant. Reducing HP across the board is a buff to destros, who in heavy armor, can still take more hits. A 50 hp reduction will effect mages much more than it will effect destros. That's less health to convert to mana, less mana to convert to stam, less stam to convert to health. The new lower stat level means people actually have to make a choice instead of automatically being capped. Destroys can now roll a Q4 Health Bonus enchant and blood craft to hit 440 hp, whilst mages will only be running around with 400 hp unless they do the same.
That's just outright wrong. As a mage you get strength buff which puts you several points of health ahead of a destro, and you can run the vit title quest (while a destro would prefer to run quick most likely) which puts you several more points ahead. Then, to top it off, as a mage you don't have to choose to skimp on your other enchants because mages never use ring enchants anyway. Mages suffer no penalty for putting a health bonus on a ring, while destros lose something that can even the gap with a mage. Any discussion about the health enchant is irrelevant though as no one in their right mind will spend resources on a Q4 health bonus ring in every good bag when they can level their spellchanting health buff up to 4 and have it last 7.5 minutes. If things end up the way you seem to want them, mages will end up with MORE health, and 15-20 higher strength and quickness. Destros can already lose in melee going hit for hit if they don't have the right enchants, this would just make it worse. I agree with you that enchants like health bonus are completely pointless, but they always will be as long as self buffs are in the game, and that's a much larger and more complicated discussion.
Not sure if I missed it, but spell chanting self buffs are better or comparable to q5 hp/stam/mana enchants.
Are you sure? Q4 health bonus is about 22 points. I thought Max Health Bonus was about 12 points maxed out.
