Will actually come back once they actually start implementing changes on road map. Not for a carrot in front of our face of "what's to come". So about that runebook patch that was supposed to be out weeks ago......
No. --- Post updated --- And small children cry for candy and ice-cream. That's why they need mature, responsible adults to look after them and make responsible decisions for them.
Gonna try my best to log on tonight for the first time in months. Haven't even read the updates. But I sure hope there are portal chambers and a slight increase in buff others duration. Either or I'm coming back with three more subs.
I can't speak for everyone, but I'm tired of running around in Darkfall. I've done it for 10 years. I enjoy 2 aspects of the game, PvP, and Boat Battles. DFO doesn't have quality boat battles, so only thing worth a shit is PvP. Now I'm garbage in PvP, so I pass gear out like the sample lady in Costco on a Saturday. I'm tired of running around for hours to get what I need to make a bag that I lose sometimes in under 20 seconds lol. So yea, I won't come back until travel is much quicker. And NETS. I want retractable nets.
The rune books will definitely make travel easier for you. You have to buy and Mark the runes and a book, but once you do you can use the book to go to that runes location any time at just the cost of portal shards (which you can also buy). Much better than the chambers.
Ohh I've been keeping a close eye . I look forward to the change. Now if only you could get those retractable nets in...
Why retractable nets.. It's allready t hard enough to board a boat now.. That would pretty much make it impossible no?
Nothing more to do other then fight over villages, I could've gotten more population back by putting portal chambers back in so people would actually give a shit about sieges.
Seriously? 5k for a permanent rune and 2k per use is "too much"? If you cut even 20 minutes travel out of your game time you can farm back that 2k in under 10 minutes so you've still got an extra 10 minutes you didn't have before.
Cause casuals, newbies, and everyone except the elitist understand it is retarded that nets remain down. You shouldn't be able to take a raft, and cut a corner and board a larger -- mastery level -- ship w/o doing any damage to the vessel. With everyone have begone, waterery grave, storm blast, whatever other combination of spells EVERYONE gets, its easy to catch and catapult yourself onto a boat. And since the captain can't defend himself/herself and instantly dies in less than 2 seconds w/ a person w/ daggers, which stops the boat so the other cheap fucks swimming around can board the boat and kill everyone is beyond stupid. This game is supposed to be about risk vs reward. You shouldn't risk a shit boat, and easily capture a badass boat. All because the nets remain down.
In my experience, it's much easier to begone/explosion onto a moving boat than it is to try to climb the nets. Unless it's something like a high deck'd ship, there's really no point trying to use the nets. You can even cast a launch on the surface of the water and that'll generally put you up high enough to board a moving ship that's coming towards you. I'm not saying they shouldn't be retractable, but it definitely won't make that much of a difference. I totally agree with the daggering down the captain part though. Ships should lose their speed more gradually from full sail instead of coming to a halt in an instant, to give someone else a chance to take the helm and keep sailing. It'd be good to see it a bit more like "Sea of Thieves" where you actually need to pull down the sails to shop a ship.
