Thissss! No class grind please
self buffs passive skills
They didn’t at the start, they were as annoying as Darkfalls are. They learned and just made them last a long time, looks like BPG hasn’t.
This. There needs to be a mage spec where you choose and it gives you all the buffs permanently just like a destro spec. If you make it some kind of potion or enchant you might as well not even do it cuz that defeats the purpose of being a mage vs. destro.
No because you break again the pvp balance...you realy don't understen that ?
Don't touch the old pvp balance but add new armours..new specializzations..new racial skills...
Yes I know that, started that game in 2000....was just trying to point out that self buffing wasn't such a hassle when they lasted for hours, in hopes that the re-implementation of them into RoA will at least incorporate that page into their book.
I like the long duration option, buff the cost and make them last an hour or whatever.. Keeps the balance, reduces the nuisance and would be good enough for now until something better can be worked out. Glad self buffs are returning, they're a necessity for solo PVE peeps.
Mobs (unlike in DFO) don't have hp regen, as far as I can remember undeath doesn't do negative regen so it wouldn't do anything.
Throw Disease (str debuff) on anything and it'll do 2-4 less melee damage depending on its weapon type and your magic encumbrance (can do it as a destro even). I don't know which stat debuffs do and don't work on mobs, but I've used that one since my newbie days back in DFO farming menhirs. Still works today, and you can use it as a destroyer even.
Edit: Also in beta we found out you can tongue rot the fire dragons and they'll fizzle their attacks. The fizzle animation is actually Fire Ward.
Self buffs passive skill...
Add Archmage specialization for mage...spells 10% bonus dmg vs heavy and melee 10% malus dmg vs heavy
I like the idea of buffs working like they do in poe. Depending on your specialization, you can have more than others. Never all and too many would mean less mana to spend per fight. You'd have to pick and choose what buffs you use. If that were the route you take, you might have to adjust other buffs to be something like a small boost for a few seconds and then also have a cooldown of sorts. Maybe even make those other buffs vicinity buffs and find a way to make it so it only hits your friends/allies? Just spit balling..
Bpg can create many specializzations but self buffs was created for nbalance the pvp...make them passive skills...
In the beginning I disliked New Dawn’s “toggle buffs” that drained 1 mana per tick per buff. But in the end I liked it. It added a bit of strategy and felt reasonably balanced.
just put things back the way they were at the end of dfo and implement arena
making self buffs a passive trough a spec that you cant pick with destro/mk is literally what youre asking for but more tought out , HELLO?
ps new armors, specialisations and touching racial skills does fuck with balance lmao
Right now the goal is to follow through with the targeted revert we promised and going forward we can look at and poll individual changes.
nice, we all love polls
I'd have to poll it to confirm this
I know self buffing is a hassle, but it also kinda deteriorates people camping spawns a bit, at least for mage. If you are camping and waiting, there is a good chance your buffs will run out once someone shows up.
So you will either have to buff up and ruin the element of surprise, or fight at a disadvantage. I did really like that about self buffs. Was always a good give away that someone was about to jump you. At the very least they needed to almost always refresh their spell haste.
Ya I typically jumped people with just hasten spells most of the time when I logged into a spawn that was being farmed. Also there were times I'd be hiding in an enemy city for a period of time waiting for backup and buffing would give away my presence/location, so there'd just be a hasten spells/stoneskin right as the fight started.
