Fuck it ill bite, This is not a comprehensive list just shit on the top of my head. Not limited to only playing melee/archery but people who were good at it aswell as playing mage (at least some, prolly a fuck ton more, but right now my brain can't name em.) Jedi Mind Helm Breaker Finnad Atmoor Fusion Sebastian Itwas luck Pure Banka
How did this post get to 4 pages. Ginger is a joke; anyone who played at the end knows archery was 100% viable, as was melee.
I need to break my legs and get a wheel chair then I'll be on your level. --- Post updated --- banka, fusion, seb, pure all played mage/hybrid 99% of the time.. just because they could play destro at a decent level because they where just naturally good players doesn't help your cause. Also you realize even if you managed to name 50 players who could play melee/archery well it doesn't mean it was viable because that 50 is simply 2% of the population and rest where mages or weren't able to play melee/archery. your argument is flawed sorry
I mean, it's gotta be a troll right? There's no way he got this far in life without randomly walking into traffic while texting or something... Like I said before, I wasn't the best, but if you can't find a fight like that, you must've literally not looked.
Like I've said before, if people put the same amount of time into learning melee archery they'd get just as good as they would putting the time into learning magic. For a long time people believed magic was superior / easier since the actual op magic times. The meta was shifting to becoming more balanced in this respect as more and more people bothered to pick it up.
To Be honest Destro was more than viable if played CORRECTLY. Most people that tried to play destro stopped because they played it incorrectly and got pounded. Or because it was cheaper to be a mage than destro. Example Full bone set(Some FP or infernal pieces) compared to FP set, infernal set...etc
There are those who can speak of balance with credibility and those who can't. We had a perma-noob in TAO. He didn't really have time to build a mage so he went destro. But he didn't put time into that either. So he would do 3 duels and get absolutely shit stomped on, and then complain on and on (just like GM) that magic was OP. The fact of the matter was he would get just as shit-stomped on whether he was mage or whatever. Because he was a noob. And because he would do 1 duel for every 100 duels that I would do, or Epik Wang, or Mad Cowturd. So basically what he said just didn't carry any weight. Mad speaks about balance... you listen. May not agree but definitely listen. Perma-noob speaks... If he is going to on for too long... switch mumble channels.
The Evidence is overwhelming on the fact Melee/Archery is no where near as viable as mage, Here is one major fact that proves this, majority of players in Darkfall 1 played Mage, even though Mage was a 100x harder play style to level up and grind. Yet Melee/Archery you could do this from day 1. This speaks volumes and nothing anyone can say convince me different.
or it could have to do with the fact people belived you had to spend millions on a destroyer gearbag wof should be nerfed tho i had every intensify at 100 and still played destroyer because it was more enjoyable and i did better as one, only times i went mage was when i was out of destroyer gear (basically never) maybe we should start whining about it once the devs have started fucking with encumbrance, for now id rather have good content and NPE
Why would you make such a retarded thread lol. Destroyer was strong as fuck, the only thing is you have to be good enough at melee and archery to pull it off. Of course mage is going to seem better if you are an average at best player.
