I Personally disagree with the loot thing- I’d keep it full loot, but completely understand what you are saying.
Some game changing ideas can come from some not so good ones.

    have u seen sieges video??

btw if u guys update facebook/twitter whit some player siege video u may have a lot of old/new players come back.. just saying

the only thing that needed to be change were:

-multi siege drop on same clan
    -gold increase on drop
-option to buy 1 large siege stone for hamlet
-maybe destroy 4 wall and the keep for city sieges ( vs 10 wall )

we need content in the game that is fun and easy to put in :https://forums.riseofagon.com/threads/small-content-update-before-xpac.19354/
not saying my thread is good, just a example, a lot of players made some good thread.

and we still have no clue or have not enough info about the big TCS xpac. are we still gonna have a arena?

is this all rdy or close https://www.riseofagon.com/news/project-update-intro-embers-war/ ???

Agree who ever is running the Facebook is slacking, they just recently put a video post out, the one before that was from the last server war, who ever is running it needs to try to get a post out once a week or once every other week find a video and psoriasis it easy

Bookmark this page, because I am tired of repeating myself.
TCS is being worked on. The entire reason why I'm redoing the clan windows now and adding in real alliances is because of TCS. Arenas will likely come right after TCS.

In the mean time if we stop discussing new things we wont get new things. PERIOD. Nothing more irritating than people telling me what the hell I should be talking about. YOU (as in anyone reading this) are not the only person playing this game. YOU do not decide what is fun for everyone else.

If people don't want me discussing new ideas I'm perfectly fine just doing what I think is best, but I think everyone would rather all of use just work together instead.

Agree I would also be more prone to streaming more often if I was promoted on the forums and discord <3

things change i agree, but when the promotion team of 2 guys cant update something ez and FREE that may bring u DEV MORE MONEY... its kinda sad

    we have ez lvling
ez gear grind up to Q3-4/FP.

I'm not sure what is considered ez and free, but we are working on things all time. If we see a change that we're interested in doing that is a quick one we'll do it. That's a good part of why I started these discussion up, so we can start going through the list of things people want to see changed. Sieges included. Mounts included. Alt abuse. All things that have been brought up. Let's just not discourage discussion :)

Let’s be honest this game is not good to stream unless it has an arena imo

I played black desert online for a bit and they have sieges of a sort but they obviously don't have full loot in their wars and thus no normal reason to not do some sort of suicide runs. The way that they combat suicide runs and to punish the side who dies a lot is by making their respawns take longer and longer the more a person dies. This is on an individual basis so one person isn't punishing the whole clan but if your whole force gets wiped then the next time they get wiped they stay dead for a longer period.

The way I see it, changing gear to cost more, last longer, but making the paperdoll drop on a sliding scale based on your alignment with select areas where maybe you lose 100% of it or you lose 2x as many items.

A saint killed in a lawful land would have like a 5% chance of losing each piece of gear equipped. That's ~50% chance of losing an item and if unlucky you could lose half your gear still. A villain would have a ~20% chance of losing each piece of gear and on average is going to lose 2 pieces of gear. If the player has flagged then they get an extra punishment on death. This would make it so if one red jumps another red then the player who is doing the jumping becomes flagged and risks more. You should always risk more if you're engaging the PVP. If I'm correct, you are automatically flagged in unlawful areas so this may just work well in making unlawful areas a higher risk zone.

This change would basically require a soft gear wipe though in a way. You would have to make gear cost like 10x more to make but make it have 10x the durability or something. This would also help with the enchanting problem where it's tedious as fuck enchanting all your gear. When your gear often is kept on death and lasts 10x longer and lasts potentially more than a week it's not as tedious. This would probably require enchants to cost more too depending on what is considered balanced.

Isn't it a good thing about sieges that it makes people who don't normally log in, actually log in?

I feel like a lot of people discussing sieges and TCS, but can't see the forest for the tree's. The #1 goal of all of these discussions Kilrain started should be to make more people want to log in to the game, and more often.

A lot of the issues people think that need to be solved, like clans having too many holdings, would be naturally fixed if core things were implemented that actually made people want to login.

I really dislike this idea. The intensity and the passion people have during sieges, and what makes it so fun, is the threat of losing your gear and the thrill of gaining gear. Why take that out from the only end game content currently in the game?

I think the issue of dying and having to regear could be solved more elegantly by implementing the Gear Bag Template system talked about a few years ago. More than anything the tedious process of actually putting a bag together is the worst part of dying.

If you used 50 of your 70 IQ then you would have read the part where items are worth more and you'd still lose everything in your backpack.

Noob players shouldn't be wearing expensive gear. They should be wearing what they can afford to lose. Vet players should also be wearing what they can afford to lose. A big part of the game is risk vs reward. I hope they never remove full loot. It really does give the game that extra shot of adrenaline that puts it over the edge.

You can also already do quite well with extremely cheap gear as it is. That isn't holding any newbies back. When you look at your chances in a full bone set with a r50 melee and black bolt they are actually really fucking good for the cost compared to what any of the mainstream destroyer or mage bags cost.

Losing gear isn't what makes most newbies quit. Most can pick up pretty quickly that the time investment to get regeared in appropriate and even higher than appropriate level gear is very small and happens pretty much naturally anyways grinding your character. Getting good at running away is also one of the first skill sets they tend to master (sure as hell was for me). Things that are far bigger issues to newbs are being free farmed by vets inside holdings, difficulty in finding other newbs to fight, poor game performance at default (high) settings and hardly any quality clans recruiting and properly teaching them (trust me i put an alt through a few 'newbie friendly clans' and they were functionally terrible and toxic places to learn the game for many reasons). Aside from character grinding and PvP which puts you in the crosshairs of vets the game lacks things to do as well that noobs could do to 'take a break' from advancing to not noob or less noob status.

It's very demoralizing to die and then appear at your bindstone with no gear you were wearing and nothing in your backpack that you just farmed. Most noobs are probably going to quit before they learn how to run away since the normal "sprint away" or "mount up" doesn't work all that well against a half decent player. As a shit player when you get jumped farming you may as well rest since the outcome will be the same since you're low on stats, got mobs on you half the time, and are just completely outclassed. Nobody learns shit when they get stomped.

I agree, there should be safe zones for new players to learn the game.

I don't agree that end game content should have safe zones.

Adding in game voice chat like Rust has would definitely help make it streamable/ youtable as well as bring in a whole new audience that isn't just straight PvP tryhard 24/7

Some of the most watched Rust videos (hundreds of thousands of views) are just funny interactions with voice comms between players doing goofy shit/roleplaying or just emergent PvP gameplay. NOT just try hard get shit on kid style PvP vids.

Combine it with strict racial wars that encourage more cooperative play at spawns/ racial warfront towers between each race lands to fight for control over for race wide temporary, buffs or resources, or "control" of the center dungeon that some how gives all players of that race extra loot when they farm it? Just some ideas there's tons of stuff that voice comms+ strict race wars would add ESPECIALLY for new players and unclanned types.

That would allow for a lot of funny/ emergent gameplay

It would be cool to be able to taunt your enemies or group up on the fly with people to fight the other races or betray your own (with actual penalties ofcourse).

Islands could be anything goes. With mainland having much different rulesets to encourage people to play sustainably.

Darkfall was originally supposed to be a Sandbox, that means catering to and building game mechanics that ALLOW lots of different types of players to have a place in the world and to make their own fun.

Somewhere a long the way the cooperative aspects died and things became too anti-social and all but one type of player was driven out.

I'd suggest we look to games like EvE, Rust (and MAYBE Albion) for inspiration/ mechanics

EvE in particular for siege type mechanics, but just as important clan SOVEREIGNTY.

And I'm not just talking about territory control

We need game mechanics that benefit/ make you WANT to be under 1 tag with the people you PvP daily with. Make being a clan mean something, make allying or deallying another clan have consequences that last.

I like Darkfall best because of the physics based combat, the game engine/ world, and the fact that you're a humanoid playing in first/third person magic/melee/archery, but when it comes to actual game world mechanics/ rulesets/ economy for a Sandbox... EvE big brains this shit x1000

I say look at how they do things and see if you can adapt it for RoA territory control/sieges/ economy/ "safer areas" and things to do for carebears.

Darkfall is too Wild West atm, you just can't let us do ANYTHING we want because some people will ALWAYS go scorched earth and drive lots of other people out. Especially when the risk vs reward scale is skewed in favor of the people NOT risking as much.

This community does NOT self police at all. BPG must put SOME more rules and structure in place

    /rant
