I fully comprehend the can of worms this question is. Despite that, I have to know. Who is any good? There are obviously the veteran players who have kicked around in Original DF and later in UW and are now gravitated towards Rise of Agon over New Dawn due to their sense that this is where the "hardcore" fighters are. So these veterans will come in varying flavors. Being around awhile doesn't necessarily mean you're any good at the dang game. So then there is the holdings. It would seem logical that the clans with holdings are capable of holding their own with the best of them, after all they have territory to defend and likely had to fight for it to begin with. But that is not always the case either. Sometimes pure numbers or settling down while things are peaceful nets large groups of squishy teddy bear knights their own little castle. So this might not be a clear indicator. But I still see the phrase "good player" getting thrown around so there is clearly some understanding of who can kick some ass and who gets eaten when the big kids come to town. I haven't really touched Darkfall that much, I did a really short stint of poking UW, and I spent less than 24 hours on the boring empty early launch of Rise of Agon, but I'm a many-year veteran of Mortal Online and similar full-loot MMORPGs. I know how these games form some pride and sense of place around skill level. So just so I know who to look out for, and who to seek out, what's the pecking order around here? What groups or individuals define the course of a battle when they enter it?
Good players are guys with good characters generally speaking currently since the stat gap varies greatly right now.
That sounds about right, videos seem to reveal either a particular mage build or a particular "warrior" build but who, when they have these builds, tends to win? --- Post updated ---
Dune Rats generally speaking have the largest group of good players on the server. Theres also Blackwater, which at least has a few top tier players. I noticed Momentum has a few really good players, and they are allied with Dreadlords I think. There are plenty of others, but generally its 1-3 really good players in a clan with a lot of below average to average players filling in the rest of the ranks. You'll soon pick out who those good players are in each clan.
For the express purpose of not making a target of myself before I even get started, I'm gonna keep that between myself and whoever I end up joining up with. But I first tasted MO pre-awakening. --- Post updated --- Was fucking waiting for this answer
The best players right now are the ones that played toward the end of DF one or extensively played beta imho. A lot of the below average players are just new. If vets spread the knowledge people will get better fast and we will have a healthy game. we should all try to get as many people there as possible as we know end game is the fun part.
Man, MO was so cool, but a little too clunky for me. As someone who fucking LOVES M&B: Warband, I really wanted to like MO.
