    I logged in for a bit yesterday and one thing really bothered me. There isn't any solo pvp content at all anymore.
    There used to be roaming pvp, city raiding, and even villages for solo players. Now everyone mass ports into villages so you just get zerged, city raiding is dead and there aren't enough players to even consider roaming an option.

    Add one more thing to the billboard. A solo spot. It queues you up and throws you and one other random player out into the world. You spawn into a random place together to do your 1v1 open world. Give it a long cool down if you must.

    Right now it sucks because every village is like 5+ minimum and solo players are completely out of luck with any kind of content. Its important that solo pvp content exist because its the game at its most basic level. Everyone is solo at some point. Maybe your friends, or rest of clan isn't online. Maybe you just started and don't even have anyone else to play with. Maybe your a duelist that only wants 1v1's. There are lots of valid reasons why someone ends up alone or in a small group in a game like this. You don't want people getting stuck in a cycle of 'cant log in to do anything because there isn't enough of us to do anything'. Its a self defeating cycle that destroys activity.

    You could even have a hidden or public MMR rating attached to the outcomes of these fights that helps better balance them.

    DO NOT FORGET SOLO AND SMALL SCALE PLAYERS.

    Completely agree, its actually pretty critical right now that we get some solo pvp options

    Regionalization will go a long way to improve this issue. There will be a plethora of valuable things to find in your travels while you roam for players and many key materials will be found almost exclusively on subcontinents and in the center area, this should result in a dramatic increase in pvp frequency, much of which you should be able to enjoy solo or in small groups. That said, I do find your solo port idea to be interesting.

    While good, regionalization won't create *balanced* smaller fights anymore than villages do. In this game, if its worth fighting over then its worth zerging (or vet/skill zerging) over even if only to deny someone else the reward. This is why I think its good to have at least one source of a somewhat guaranteed 1v1 of more equal opponents. With it being a randomized port system it would be as close to a random open world encounter as possible. The terrain would be random each fight. Someone that happens to be passing by could interfere. It would be exactly the same as an open world 1v1 encounter only minus the time spent trying to make it happen naturally. Even if its only once or twice a day that you can do it, it would still get more people to log in since there would be at least something they could do for solo pvp.

    Great ideal, fully support this.

    Also, imagine the fun of both players being dropped randomly right into a Kraken spawn or something, fight the player and a Kraken at the same time :D

    go duel in/around chaos cities. pick one, make it community wide known for hosting 1v1s. why do you need BPG to do everything for you.... this is a sandbox, build your castle.

    Is there no mob worth camping for solo players that's equivalent to the selentine golem in DFO?

    I think this is what we need. We have so many good pve spots for solo players these days that you never really know where they can be any time of the day.

    In DFO seletine golems were very scarce(only 2 i think). They were the only ones dropping and skinning for selentine ore that were worth slaying. So for that reason, it was constantly camped.

    I just think we need a mob that can drop something unique, but also something that everyone has to depend on that's mid-tier level in loot-worth.
    Now, i don't want something like the globule of greed, but we need something that solo players will chose to fight over at all time of the day from a mob that is very scarce, but not worth it for a group nor to become rich. IT has to be something that ppl don't just sell for gold.

    The more i think about it, the more i miss the old dfo pve situation. It was very predictable to know where most ppl would be farming so we actually had some farming spots that were more busy for pvp while safer pve spots were the ones actually meant for (pve).

    they need to remake golems

    since its droping 2 ores its like useless now, it was a good target for small scale pvps on df1

    Outside of PVP there are actually a lot of activities for solo players to do and we'll continue to add more. However it sounds like you are specifically referring to PVP in which case implementing PVP around solo or "tiny" groups, I consider 5 "small", so any less must be called tiny :p Anyway.. I digress, in order to do what you're saying with certainty then we have to consider breaking some of the rules of "open world". Consider teleporting players in 1x1, 2x2, or whatever size you wish to any location in the world and you could be porting them on or near other players. I know those chances are probably slim considering, but still possible. There would of course be restrictions on where they could or could not go, but it's still not perfect. We implement it along with the rating systems you propose and people will rage when they get interference of any sort, and considering this is an open world PVP game there will be interference.

    When I originally designed the village system one of the thoughts I had was to make them more contained. I've mentioned various versions of this in the past and people hated on the idea because it took away from the open world aspect, but the reality is if people want dedicated, specific sized or arranged fights then the only real solution is to break that barrier. I am not an instance/queue type MMO player. I'm old school, and if it took me 2 weeks to complete a dungeon because I couldn't find a party it was part of the experience for me, but a vast majority of players don't have the time or patients for that sort of thing. There is a reason other games implemented group search, queues and instances.

    There are a lot of things we can do, but how we do it will depend on what is really wanted in the big picture. Do we want to close of active villages? We could remove their live timers and simply add queues. If you queue up with 3 people in your party then the system will either search for another party of 3 or create one and send everyone to a free village. No one can interfere, it can be treated as a death match where once you're dead you're dead. You can have it function as a timed match so when you die you respawn and get back into the action until the match is over.

    We could do instances even. We could spawn people into their own little cave and have them fight it out free from interruption, but I personally feel we should be keeping all activity in the world. Even if people cannot interact and interfere it's far better to see people fighting than see nothing as people are away in their instance.

    I know I went on a bit of a tangent here, but I just don't see this as the solution to what you are trying to do.

    there are so many areas in the world that are unused, people rarely visit those areas could be used for people seeking 1v1 encounters. open world unleveled playing field who cares.. give it a fucking chance...
    solo play, limited time to play is all some people have and they want to make the most out of it..
    Nothing in darkfall is fair but if you could simplify it down to being 2 players ported to a spot on the map to duke it out and see what happens.. You can at the very least give them that.

    No. You are just wanting easy kills. Jumping someone half health at a mob spawn is not the kind of pvp im looking for.

    I hate when ppl like you think that way coz i know a lot of players who are literally waiting to get jumped. So you don't have to speak for everyone. I think some ppl actually enjoy getting jumped and they are prepared.
