Heyo RoA Community! My name is SoL Ace and I have been playing predominantly as a Blue player since DF first launched in 2009. There are those who may remember me, and know I am trustworthy. I have an interest in creating and scripting certain events for Rise of Agon and was wondering what interest there may be. These events would start out small and cheap but depending on how interest and participation are, depending on how these events go, they could grow to be something much bigger. For those who played Alpha/Beta I am imagining events somewhat similar to Strongbox Fights, Scavenger Hunts and Organized Open Field Battles as well as Siege Events. I would look at doing the first event in 6-8 days, a planned siege event, and would consider a 5-10k entry fee, using a portion of that to create similar gear bags for all participants and the remainder to go to a prize pool for the winning 'faction'
Game really needs stuff like this its player made content, I'm not sure if anyone would want to fork over 5-10k in this economy. Gold is so hard to come by your better off just asking for enough mats to craft someone a gear bag The best way to get participation in this is not telling people what is going on. Pay a group of players some money and tell them they will get gear bags if they are at location X Tell another group of players if they pay you for information you will guarantee them PvP at location X This was the premise for my Beacon community, but I no longer have the time to sit around coordinating the logistics. Also people were telling me that I was doing something great for the game but was potently giving me too much power over the game as a player. At any rate I'd love to support an idea that brings more content into Darkfall espesicaly if it involves @DeadlyHit being forced to make helmets with or bringing back Funhulks but in pink!
I like the idea of, for example, a bunch of Orks gather for an event that is to attack a bunch of Dwarves on a given battlefield. Rules could include no looting and no ganking so the battle can be reset if needed and to extend the fun. Of course, this will usually end badly, as this is DF.
Yeah, I actually made a few RP videos/events back in 2010 for DF using volunteers from Turtle alliance. The response I got was decent. And you may be right about the money, though without sponsorship of any kind it would need some form of crowdfunding to work. I disagree about the not telling people what's up however, I plan to be open and honest in regards to the events, the scenario and rewards, if people don't want to participate then they won't. If there's no interest so be it. I do have the time and interest to try and coordinate logistics for these kinds of things and would very much like to try and connect the community through more than just the politics, intrigue and warfare. Racial skirmishes, Blue Battles, Champion Attempts, Treasure Hunts, Protect the VIP etc. All these and more as I am open to suggestions.
