1. Combat Specializations are a must - Been said numerous times, but this should probably be the next thing you guys work on. Game needs a meta shift anyways. 2. Crafting Specializations are a must - Note: I said specializations. You literally can't craft anything unless you take 1 of 5 title slots for it over there, it's absurd. 3. I don't know how you can salvage territory control/economy - Without a relaunch. I know you're probably sick of hearing it, but taking out portal chambers was a really bad decision. It just offered so much in terms of gameplay, and runebooks really don't help the holding value situation + People have way too much of everything. 4. More Armours are needed. - But "traits" are pointless when encumbrance is a thing. - Robes/Complete Armour sets. 5. Marketplaces are dope. - Should be good when you guys get them implemented. 6. Race Wars could help give alignment meaning 7. Both companies fucked up their launch, but you guys still did it better. - They destroyed loot tables, mobs are just different versions of shitty gold/arrow drops. - Their version of local banking is atrocious. - Their grind is worse than ROA launch grind. - Time locked crafting is fucking hysterical, especially after they destroyed loot tables. - The above points make the game seem SUPER boring, and severely lacking in anytype of depth. - Their combat does seem extremely smooth compared to ROA however, even with 110 ping. ROA is way far ahead in terms of actual content, but behind in terms of game structure, which is the real issue. A proper foundation is required, and that starts with the first 4 points.
I couldn't play longer than a day. It's like they asked themselves 'How can we make Darkfall more tedious?' and did all those things.
I keep trying it off and on, I just think... this is way less fun even roleplaying as juicy fruits isn't as fun as I thought it might be.
More new items .. armor / weapons / mobs / anything .. instead of tweaks is welcome. That being said it was DnDlaunch weekend and instead of that I resubbed to RoA I suck balls at pvp but going to give this another shot lol. Absolutely loving hte loot / skinning changes .. plus the costs for me to actually upgrade my spells etc. Its going great.
Lots of good stuff in the works and it seems like it's quickly becoming more accessible for new players and non-pvp focus crowds
Glad to have you, welcome Sounds like you might enjoy the new title tasks, have you seen them yet? They can be found in the task u.i
things I like from new dawn; no regs on transfers (massively helps new players) no tools (just hit g on something you pull out appropriate tool) being able to click, release click, then click again to hold my arrow reduced time in between spells option to choose a near by bindstone on death (stops bindcamping) but New Dawn LOL. on the bright side, they do not hesitate to give you a refund
I came back 3 times to give it a shot and each $10 I spend means I hang out for about 4 hours in game and log. It's certainly not holding my attention. I'm playing Ultima Online again and having a blast. I'll say this again... The day they re-make UO with graphics like darkfall , they will be rich... Mark my words.
1. Specialization im ok with, nothing like new dawn pseudo classes though. More specs similar to destroyer but for archery, mages, and support. Don't take AWAY freedom, add to it. 2. Artisan crafting is supposed to handle this, don't know how bpg plans on doing it, would be nice to discuss. 3. Relaunch is not needed. 4. Armor traits are a touchy subject, I didn't really mind unholy wars system THAT much but I think there's room for adjustment in the encumbrance system. 5. They're coming. 6. Agreed, I hated the alignment change in RoA. 7. Describe how combat feels more "smooth" other than the queuing?
I would thoroughly enjoy it if all assigned hotkeys told you what keys they were bound to when you open the expanded hotbar
You can add all that stuff and it still won't bring population back DFO population peak. If your just talking about fighting for the few hundred players left that still want to play Darkfall then yeah but the players you'd pickup wouldn't cover the development cost. If this is the business model (competing with New Dawn) going forward neither game will succeed.
I mean if you want to think that sure. I got no problem with ROA combat but you can't deny that the idea of everyone being the exact samething is a put off for a lot of people. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
How you did it? Im trying to refund a alt by email and pm forum and no sucess.. EDIT: they answered me.
DND Hype got me resubbed to RoA also and the changes are great, I had no idea so much had changed with the game. Glad to be back.
Exactly why I told the devs this weekend they needed to make a new promo video covering allth changes.
