Same reason people don't like doing 1 frame links in street fighter games? And also calls back to the other persons point about battles becoming who's better at bunny hopping rather than who's better at the game. Bunny hopping fucking sucks and should have never been in this release.
Bunny-hopping was (and technically still is) a bit of an exploit of game mechanics. However, RoA has fully embraced this as part of the game. You don't have to be an MLG xxPro, but you should at least get a handle on it.
Why does it suck? I mean everyone can use it and it doesn't take long to level at all, at 25 you start using it efficiently and at 50+ its even better and easier to use, which is a really low barrier entry. It is a useful tool while fighting and can be used in various situation so I fail to see why its so bad for the game, you cast it in front of you wait to get pull forward and time your jumps, what is so hard about it, takes 10-20 minutes to practice and get a fairly decent success rate then all you gotta do is keep practicing for all the different fighting scenario and use the terrain to your advantage. Its not like only the "elite players" can use this spell, everyone can use and it is dead easy to master, the hardest part is that you need to know WHEN to use it to your advantage, to either reset a fight, escape or sometimes chase someone, because you lose tons of HP and Stamina. Seriously there are many more important issues to fix than bunny hopping, just learn to use it and keep it in your rotation so you get quickly familiar with it. Next thing you know people will cry about zerg and that there's no way to escape from them, that the game is all about numbers, truth is Begone/Shrapnel/Stormblast/Bspike are the best tools to escape from unfair odds, if you value your time and your loot you will want to escape when you face a certain death.
It's not that we're triggered. It's just the opinion that people should "just die" when they're outnumbered, is so off from what DF is, that we can't talk to you.
It really has nothing to do with dying to a zerg. These kids just don't want to lose, ever. They will defend this crap using whatever lame ass excuse they think might work. If you're out of position and surrounded by superior numbers, yes you should die. Being able to string along a whole group (and put them at a disadvantage while chasing) is not good gameplay. It's nothing more than convenient to your playstyle - that's it. --- Post updated --- Old movement video I made for our newbies
I honestly can't understand any complaining about bhopping when mounts are so incredibly OP at the moment.
If you get into a fight and you're poorly positioned yes you should die Bunny hopping is cancerous to growing the population in the game. It really doesn't matter what you think about your ability to get away from people who jump you. --- Post updated --- Also "mounts are OP" equates to "someone saw me and reacted quickly and I didn't get to take their shit" Mounts won't save you from being jumped and not seeing it coming. But yeah if someone is aware or already on a mount no you shouldn't be able to just bhop over and kill them regardless of what your little epeen wants
No mobility works in games like League where dying means sitting out for 30 seconds. It's not the same in Darkfall when dying means losing literal hours of work. I'd bet my bank account that you'd have a lot more kids crying and leaving over having zero chance against zergs than you do for not being able to catch skilled bunny-hoppers. Stop trying to reduce the skill ceiling plz kthxbye
Ahhh yes the "skill ceiling" straw man. Bunny hopping doesn't take much skill as evidenced by the fact that I can do it. Seriously, once everyone has begone/stormblast/shrapnel you can roll your face across the keyboard and outrun mounts all day. That's not really what is being discussed here anyway. What most are saying is bunny hopping in its current form is bad. There needs to be some drawback to kekekeke'ing across Agon at one hit. It's way too advantageous to the person that is often losing a fight. I don't think all forms of bhopping should be removed. I do think it needs to be reined in.
