this is absolutely the worst change bpg could ever implement into this game and if they do it i'm actually done
That was my response. I was in disbelief. When I brought it up, their response was "test it"... Test what? It's a hard no on paper, it shouldn't even be considered.

There are about 15 people right now in the Discord channel talking and testing through these changes with us. TJ mentioned to you when you hopped into the focus group chat that it was something we wanted to test based off of some comments made during testing, with the stated intention of seeing its effects based on the changes we had already made and tested over the last three days. You can jump in and join the group so you can actually test the changes (not just the temporary ray change) and help out with your expertise, or you can create a thread to try and troll.
I logged into PTS during the first changes, created a character, lagged my way up to the market, went to purchase equipment, found out barely anything was on it, found out my character wasn't maxed, got ganked staring at the market, logged out and uninstalled it. I'd give it a solid 5/7 perfect score. Logged in last night to do a duel night with the clan, had 400 ping. 5/7. Darkfall is truly a solid gaming experience, it's a tragedy more people don't play it. Personally, I think we need to change combat to bring more people in, It's definitely a issue.
Why is this even a temporary change? Why is this even remotely a possible thing that could make it to live without even buffs to compensate? Not to mention even if properly balanced it would be destroying yet another fun aspect of combat for what? Sigh.
Where you playing from Sero? NA users should get the same or better compared to the live server likely. Test server is in florida so depending on location and route it may be worse though obviously. 400 ping though is like dial-up from Australia...
West coast. Ping is like 50 to 100% higher on test server. Why isnt it in the same place as the live server? If you want accurate feedback ping really needs to be the same. Not worse or even better.
It was a hop going from TO to NY. Haven't checked to see if it's still an issue. This was to LIVE btw.
theres nothing to test in make rays useless. u guys already destroyed pmist. remember the time when u guys said "we will keep the vanilla combat"
It is straight up a financially forced decision. We run 2 full server clusters that allows us to run a full world the same as live and a few build/automation machines for about 1/5 the cost of the single live server cluster with an extra machine for the website. New York is far too expensive a location for a test server and due to the server architecture and other technical challenges we can't do temporary hosting it just isn't feasible. We changed the PTS to a single tile for testing and checking with several members in the focus group they've all reported it to be better.
