Lmfao you do know before disable bolt you still would of been wof disabled right especially verse defiance team comp.
Obviously. The kid is whining about getting zerg wof and disable as if zerg wof and disable wasn’t already a thing.
The fact that disable can be paired with any CC has always been pure cheese. The entire parry/disable relationship has been aids its entire existence. Parry alone is OP, but disable puts you in a position where you rarely have any counter play and die almost instantly especially if wof or come hither is involved. Combat overall still has a lot of very unfun flaws like wof, CC spam, rayparry (and now disableparrry lol more bpg incompetence about combat), come hither and the entire parry/disable relationship. These flaws slowly keep getting worse as the combat meta becomes more and more about abusing them as efficiently as possible and less about what used to make DFO combat fun. Too bad every time BPG touches combat it gets super fucked up and ends up worse, would be great to see the skill ceiling for group and solo play get higher and the fun factor get higher as well.
RoA 2020: Removing X or nerfing Y in a game featuring combat from 2012 is simply a confirmation that the combat system as a whole has unfixable flaws and needs a complete redo. You will continue this endless cycle in an effort to band-aid a deeply flawed fundamental set of systems. Darkfall needs a properly done specialization system with much more diversity. The armor overhaul from last year had a sliver of potential to move the game into a more sensible direction, but it got pulled out because you people apparently love to continue complaining about balance in a broken combat system from 2012. This is the combat you wanted, either stop bitching about it or start asking to have the fundamental problems fixed.
um....a spell got bugged and stopped working, so until they find a fix for it *adept* they disabled tongue rot xD
FOTM is tongue rot now, ok. I thought Spell Success enchant would be a constant counter to tongue rot but I never tested it enough in DFO and in ROA I don't know if that enchant is working at all. But at this point everyone will say, "spell success enchant, get outta here", right? Oh, Adept is not working also? HAHAHAHAHAHA Impulse is cheesy af too. Give them Shrapnel, it was much more skill based than this damn impulse disgrace. REVERT COMBAT TO DFO, YOU 7$[K*N' FOOLS JUST LET THE PEOPLE BANG, MAN!
Tongue rot is fine when adept works. Debuffs are kind of fine, but pinaces cost way too much. I wish debuffs were 100% blockable with 0 chance of missing on hit if the opponent is bot blocking.
I agree with this. But no one asked for no delay between weapon swaps. Legit something so little as that has created a whole new meta.
Combat didn't need to be changed from the end of df1, all these combat changes have just been a huge waste of time, all they really need to do was work on content and the economy.
can we just get a 100% complete revert on the combat? It was made worse with the changes, and there's so many existing bugs right now. it's actually pretty absurd. I know there's a 0% chance this happens because the whole sunken cost thing, but this shit ain't working. You can continue to try and implement small fixes, but ultimately, this game would improve the most substantially and the fastest by literally just reverting 99% of the combat fixes immediately. I mean, I tried to test burden on a clanmate yesterday, and it didn't stick once in 8 attempts. Once a day I get a bug where I'm unable to eat food until I relog, and I never know I have this bug until I'm literally seconds away from entering a fight. My health potions are on hotbar 1 slot 1. 50% of the time I hit the '1' key while on hotbar 2 (I have a mage spell bound to this key), it drtinks a potion. I frequently 2h parry or pull out my shield without parrying, neither of which should be possible. Mount sprint is the definition of cheese. disable bolt has a god damn knockup? Like, this shit had to be unintentional right? you added a slight knockup to A PARRY DISABLE? adept doesn't work and wasn't able to be fixed, so tongue rot was just removed?? How is this a thing? polearms didn't need a debuff. .01% of the population uses them now. Knives didn't need a buff. they were god tier in pve already, and knives had their use in specific pvp situations already like wofs and water combat. Why did you make knives a necessity in EVERY high end pvp bag? Why should I have to carry multiple 2h weapons to compete end game? not to mention this gave an increased advantage to low ping players. a small amount of changes made to pvp were good. axes and greatclubs got a slight buff I believe? which they clearly needed. Make polls with each individual combat change and have the community decide. I guarantee you, bpg, you'll find that a majority of the community is very unhappy with the combat changes.
yall remember when we thought this was gonna be the version where they completely leave combat alone but only work on NPE and content? lul
Oh STFU, you are so biased and always have been. If it was up to you the combat would only be left click melee, left click archery, transfers, and bolts. Your combat ideology is cancer. 1. Destroyer has already received so many buffs and mage so many nerfs in RoA, combat should have never been touched (aside from maybe making come hither pull blockable) 2. The DF1 counter to tongue rot (Adept) isn't working in RoA 3. Destroyer was already the strongest thing in the game at top end gear/skill AND simultaneously had the lowest skill floor in DF1, it's even more OP for how simple it is in RoA To be a good mage takes SO much more skill, aim, complexity, consistency, and it has much higher penalties for making 1 mistake Mage requires mastering far more keybinds Mage requires WAY more APM Mage requires much harder aim/ prediction (mastering different arcs/projectile speeds and knowing when to use what) Mage requires much harder Stat management Mage requires much better distance management and awareness Mage requires more combo weaving/ Mage can't kill someone nearly as fast (burst = critical for fighting out numbered) Mage takes way more stats to kill someone, and if that person u spent time/ nearly emptied the tank trying to finish gets healed, you're in a much worse situation than a Destroyer would be. Mage doesn't synergize nearly as well with a pocket healer/buffer Mage can die MUCH faster from a single mistake Mage gear does NOT SCALE as well Mage cannot melee as well (strongest / easiest thing in the game) Mage cannot mount fight as well And everyone knows I'm right because a top Mage can often switch and be a top Destroyer But a top Destroyer almost never switches and becomes a top Mage Literally me when I switched to Destroyer because it took so much LESS APM/ finger movements... --- Post updated --- BPG literally doesn't know how to full revert to DF1 even if they wanted to... Too many lead DEV switches, undocumented changes, spaghetti code ontop of spaghetti code bugs, and partial reverts after nerfs/buffs They'll take a spell nerf the shit out of it, have it break something else, then buff it halfway back to original, then a new dev will take over the next year and completely change it again Foundation is all fucked
Mage must learn to aim/ predict/ choose between... Instant Ray, bolt, fireball, magma, eyerot, rank 90, debuffs (which themselves travel at differing speeds/aoe), disable, archery, melee, field aoe, wof, pungent, vamp touch ALL with different projectile speeds, arcs, and cast times Destroyer must learn to... Stickyback (not even fucking aiming and the easiest thing in the game to get good at), and archery but also not really because just getting them to swerve so you can close distance and melee is often good enough So yes mage OBJECTIVELY takes more skill to aim/ learn because you have to learn how to hit with multiple types of projectile and not just left click archery with 1 speed/arc/ timing On top of all the other extra shit you have to worry about as mage
There's lots of clunky delays in this game it's not exactly smooth waddaya saying, old players want even more clunkiness back?
Ok Smurf. We all know you play mage cause you can't miss with a r90 lol. We all know you don't like my idea of the perfect game ( bow, melee, bolts, and no ww...you forgot that) cause you would have to aim. You log in as a destro and I'll put money on general Lee puts you down. --- Post updated --- Was not clunkiness? The delay was PUT into the game. There's been post made and maybe even threads made about this I suggest looking up so you can understand what exactly 20%( I think ) faster weapon switches did to the game.
They did polls for each combat change a few times now, it’s basically what led to the current state of combat. My only takeaway from that whole thing is that the DF community is all over the place in terms of combat. Some items that I thought would be a no brainer were 50/50 in the polls for example.
