Crazy idea: what if there was an option for when you log in to the test server to go into "combat test mode."

    Hear me out.

Combat Test Mode would load you into an instanced area, where you could freely control all of the aspects of combat. From staff magnitude, to splash area, toggling and changing back hit percentage, to ideally everything combat-related.

People could invite other players to their instance to duel and test their changes. There would also be an option to save your changes, allowing others to easily enter their own version of your instance.

This would allow the community put their own vision of combat to the test. I am quite certain there are a fair number of you that would spend hours with a tool like this.

    What are the benefits?
The community could easily share and build off of one another's ideas. This would also allow us to more meaningfully vote on changes that could go on to the live server, streamlining the process of turning our beloved combat into something we can all agree on. The alternative is to keep doing what we have been doing, long-awaited patch after patch, changing and reverting and not helping the population of the game.

    What are the downsides?
Mainly, time. I understand that this may be a lot of work, particularly designing some kind of user-friendly interface to easily change every possible mechanic of Darkfall's complicated combat. BPG would need to take time away from content and patches. However, in the long run, something like this may turn into solve one of the current community's biggest frustrations.

Extra Notes on Combat Test Mode:
    - Instant access to infinite amounts of any item in the game (i.e. put regs in your backpack and never have to worry about running out of regs)
    - Access to all pieces of armor
    - Ability to completely remove specific spells/skills
    - Ability to change encumbrance and protections on armors
    - Access to enchants with ability to adjust values
    - I think you get the point, the more in-depth, the better
