Just going to offer a recap of the Unelak Siege that happened last night. Would be great if more people posted what is going on in the world of Agon. Participants Defenders: Shadow Syndicate Allies: Absolution Attackers: Outlaws Allies: Ironwrath, Drifters of Agon, Memento Mori, ??? Hired Mercenaries: Washed Up Third Party: Lords of War (maybe operating with the attackers). Numbers Defenders: ~25-30 Attackers: Over 40+, maybe over 50 Siege went live and the Defenders decided to hold the hamlet as they suspected that they would be outnumbered. The bank, two towers and one small section of wall were up. The first engagement happened as Outlaw and its allies pushed the hamlet from the south while Wash Up pushed from the north. The Attackers pushed up into the hamlet and it looked as if the hamlet was going to be overrun by the attacking force. However the defenders decided to push south into the Outlaw/Ironwrath force and ended up routing them and sending them into a full retreat. At the same time Washed Up was fully inside the hamlet but were driven out after the main attacking force was broken. The first engagement was a clear victory for the defenders but there was a lot of time left on the siege timer. The defenders decided to try and end the siege and pushed south out of the hamlet towards the siege stone. As they arrived at the siege stone the attackers had a sizable force at the stone and their were multiple groups closing in on the defenders from all sides. The decision was made to retreat back to the hamlet. Soon the attackers, regeared and regrouped in seemingly even greater numbers than before, were gathering to the north and south of the hamlet for another fight. Having lost confidence in their ability to take the hamlet by force they spawned two boats to the north of the hamlet and started shelling the bindstone. The defending clan Shadow Syndicate responded by dropping a boat of their own. Soon it looked like the small Shadow Syndicate naval force was going to be overrun by the swarm of attackers and their allies, Absolution, joined the fray. What happened next was a drawn out fight that had many death on both sides. At one point all three boats were lined up next to each other and intense, close quarter boat combat ensued. Absolution managed to steal two of the boats and sail away, saving one but losing the other to the Washed Up mercenaries. At this point the bindstone was at 1/3 health and the hamlet was surrounded on all sides by enemies, preventing fallen defenders from reentering the hamlet. The remaining defenders decided to make a final charge at the remaining boat. Although the initial push to the boat was successful, it was clear that the defenders were too heavily outnumbered and the water combat was favoring the group with superior numbers. The defenders were finally broken and the hamlet was overrun and taken down. The attackers were victorious. Great fight, everyone had a lot of fun. Some might criticize the attacking clan for hiring mercenaries when they knew they would heavily outnumber the Defenders...but war is about winning and without hiring mercenaries it is very doubtful that Outlaws and Ironwrath would have won. To the victors go the spoils, another mine consolidated into a large alliance.
