Could you clarify this for me please? You're using past and present tense and I'm not entirely following. For those not aware of the annoyances you speak ... you are trying to kill a 12 man clan and take all of their holdings, with mercs, and kill their clan off the map because of actions and happenings that occurred in a game two iterations and what ... 5 years ago maybe? Did I read that right? Or, no?
Sure, they are mostly on New Dawn, which is fine as long as they are having fun. As for retaliation, absolutely wiping them off the map. I was almost in a position to do it in DFO (old version) but ran out of time as the game died before I could, as they were annoying me, zerging me and various things while I was doing my thing in old DFO. And as for zerging them with mercs, again they allied up with: Aesir, Crusaders, Agnostic Defilers, Justice, The Mortal Coil, Absolution, StOnk, Abso Kids, and Black sheep just after the siege was triggered. (again total numbers was 250 some) At this point I made the call for the mercinaries expecting a much larger defending force than they had. And this was my dealings in the background. If we were going to be totally outnumbered, could have done an official ally, but it seemed it wasn't so, and so they just played their own and just did their own thing. Initially we saw a mine, in a decent area and a target that was ripe for the taking. With a target already on Ironwrath's back, should we really push things and take on a huge target like Little Dolphins or Wolfed Down? It would paint an even larger target on them, and being a merchant and trader, I am not ready to take on half the server yet. Target was picked, based on that criteria and I got to cross nuking SS off my list. **EDIT**: Sorry it took a minute to word things politically as possible.
Politically worded indeed as u really skimmed on the question "annoying me, zerging me and various things" is kinda vague. Dafuq did they do that u still have a vendetta bad enough to not just try to win/kill them, but specifically to run them outta the game lol? There must be an interesting story there
Participants Defenders: Shadow Syndicate Allies: Absolution ****You forgot Aesir**** who didn't show and about 8 others you set to ally during the course of that day...... Attackers: Outlaws Allies: Ironwrath, Drifters of Agon, Memento Mori, ??? *****Drifters was in no way affiliated with us Hired Mercenaries: Washed Up Third Party: Lords of War (maybe operating with the attackers). No they were not with us as a matter of fact they kept trying to kill our scouts and being annoying piss ants wearing no gear trying to get free gear. Stage 1: The call was made to form up 1 hour prior to the stone being live. In retrospect we should of bind camped the stone and not allowed you guys to even rebuild but that is neither here or there. Our initial call was to hold on the stone and wait for it to go live using our scouts to see what was moving around. Zane and I were charged with this tasks and engage several small groups trying to root us out of locations. I had counted AT least 35-40 on top of the Mine/Walls and felt you guys had equal presence. The initial push favored you guys with the high ground+towers and after about 20 of us dropped we jumped across the river and waited for the counter. When the counter didn't come we mounted up and charged back to the stone. We had no idea at this point Washed up had even hit you from behind and we questioned why didn't come charging to the stone. *We had forces in reserve at the stone we charged with 30 so it was equal as can be given the situation. Stage 2: At this point we suggested dropping the boats and forcing you guys to have to consider coming into us instead of up from the mine and the walls+towers. I don't care what you say about towers but they do hit you for 25-30 without Arcane and you have 2 of them. That's 50 fcking dmg plus spells+people swinging at your face. If you don't think that gives you any sort of advantage, please take your towers down in your city so I can siege it easier...Once the boats we're dropped you guys did as expected, however you tried to drop a boat right on top of my location with my other scout with me. We quickly gave the call to engage on your boat and ended up hijacking it. What happened after is a giant cluster f-bomb. Washed up jumped in the water and I promise you they hit everything in sight, LOW was hitting our scouts, and Absolution was just diving into the water. I saw 2 boats floating way with cannon's being fired and people jumping across *looked fantastic from a distance by the way*. At this point I think Washed up ran off with 1 of our boats and 1 of Absolutions. This HURT us. We were down to 1 boat half our forces, and we didn't know where some of your guys went. Stage 3: Those of us running back heard the call, people we're coming for the stone and some diverted to help our defense team. We found we had the 1 boat left and the small group was holding it down. I don't know if at this point you're guys were trying to commit to the stone or we're just not placed but the stone group was suddenly good and the hamlet looked like it had lost a good portion of it's defense team. We commenced bombing with the last ship and IW pulled up onto your beach. You guys charged back into IW and pushed us in. The call was given since you guys had so many battle spikes on your attack team to come in from behind and start spiking down your Hamlet. We finished off the Hamlet with your spikes and the battle was won. All in all it was a fun experience. To be fair SS had been talking shit to us the day prior when we visited the hamlet and we're talking crap about how we should come at them and they were ready. We felt we should just oblige them and take the hamlet since they wanted to talk so much crap. We had seen they did have Absolution has an ally in ND and felt it wasn't just going to be 45-15. A we had 2 groups of 15 and I think a group of 10 giving us 40 and I counted about equal in your groups. I don't think it was as mismatched as you folks think. We're small compared to the big boys running around and I'm sure we just painted a bigger target on our backs. I'm sorry we actually aren't elitist and just want to pvp in a pvp game. At least I don't bind camp your stones like certain other groups.....
I love all of the propaganda here trying to deflect away from zerging down a small clan hamlet with mercs "oh they were talking shit" "They had a 250 man roster" Typical ironwrath scum Pick on noobs farming kobolds and Zerg down a 12 man clan with mercs
You guys actually had SS outnumbered by a fair bit but the towers closed that gap. I was using the greatme account to scout and steal your mounts. Numbers were not even but with the towers it was a pretty even fight. Mistakes were made but I know my guys had lots of fun despite the loss. And just to clarify NO SHADOW SYNDICATE PLAY ON NEW DAWN to whoever was trying to say that.
My post wasn't meant to be offensive or complaining that you outnumber and hired mercs. Not need to try and skew the numbers in your favor when others from your group have confirmed in this thread that you badly outnumbered the defenders. Your post sounds whiney.
No, absolutely not even numbers. First push was pretty even, which we won. The second push after Washes up were hired, is where you guys got the advantage because we were outnumbered. We had 25 people for that siege, no more than that. Whatever footage you have is love to see it, because that is false information. You hired Washed up because you guys knew you couldn't win after that first push in the hamlet.
Sorry it took a minute to word things politically as pos Won because we pushed into a bad position under towers without arcane jewlery. That was a decision making failure. From there, the defending force which was going to assault the siege stone got cut off by Washed Up. And if we hired them after the first push, how were they there ahead of time? At the chaos bank I wonder... I hired them the morning of, not during. Their holdings are clear across the world, even with portals, takes time.
We honestly never imagined we would be able to keep a hamlet with a mine for very long with a 12 man clan. But in the less than a month that we had it, it payed for itself twice over! It would be nice if this siege is to be discussed that it could be done w/o propaganda and without people trying to portray themselves as the underdog. The fights were great and alot of fun. Outlaws enjoy your new mine, until they get nerfed anyways ;-P
Just a quick aside, that is literally just our alliance. Abso Kids is children of our members, I think it's 3? Maybe 4 people under the age of 10. I wouldn't consider them a major threat. I'm not going to play the merc math game, but I just wanted to clarify that they joined our alliance just before (to my understanding, I don't know the exact timers) just prior to the siege.
Very inaccurate just for the record none of us (SS) is playing new dawn and don't plan to be..........EVER!
What is all the nonsense about Shadow Syndicate in New dawn? We never played new dawn, not one time. So we are not affiliated in anyway with ND or the people playing that game.
And that's fine I think I got the information at ~5:30PM EST, and siege was going live around 9PM. I engaged WU around then, so they could be in the area around the time the siege went live. They arrived just as the clan stone was becoming active. We pushed in sometime thereafter. Just making sure everybody's timelines were correct. --- Post updated --- Thanks for the correction, going by secondary information, there were people scouting a number of locations for days, only counted a handful, so the target was called and decided on by others not myself. I just went about collecting siege equipment and gear that was required.
No worries, just wanted to clarify. --- Post updated --- I understand this, my point is that you had them on stand by invade things went south for the attacking group. All in all we had a fucking blast. The new guys in our clan never attended a siege. Last night's siege was a big reason why we love this game so much. No other game can i have that much fun and intense fighting with a lot at stake. Was a good fight all around and everyone has learned from these experiences.
I see why they got rid of the global siege messages but as a result it feels like nothing is happening. We don't see anything and don't have a political map to see the results. Kinda sad. Nice write-up we do need more of these.
I'm a straight shooter most people hate that about me but let me give you my perspective. meeseeks alliance: Momento Mori Outlaws + alt clan communist manifesto Ironwrath & Our crafter rawr lotd hired washed up Lords of war was not with us they saw our force on the way to go farm a pm told me. I tried to get them to grief abso and ne. But they mostly kept creeping up at our defense stone and we had to keep batting them away. On a side notE nice ninja mount steal by NE sg we all lol'd. No one saw you come in. From My perspective our alliance v abso alliance we had maybe a little more head than you without adding washed up to the mix.we have videos from both perspectives and can tell fights seemed even numbers for most part. I don't know where washed up was the whole fight I wasn't dealing with them. Rawr was I didn't even see them once to be honest but I know they did some damage to abso. I'm not ignorant on that fact I just don't personally know how much. On ground pushes abso alliance won the first engagement. In water we won engagement 2. In land and water abso won engagement 3. In Water and land we won engagement 4. I died and got ganked twice and I only had 2 solo kills on the boat which I wasn't recording. My 2 lost gear bags were about 15k each so whomever got them grats!!! My man kulgur needs to use fucking fire ball to knock people off me!!!!!!! Damn you fat dwarf. Abso advantage they used a superior coms setup. We blobed in discord. Abso also called good synces (I know I spelled wrong in video it was 1am). We didn't sync well. Tower damage really did help you guys you can't deny it. Only some of us had arcane necks and even than it hurt. I suggest all clans get arcane rings!!!! Anyways it was a great learning experience for our alliance we have a lot of new players to df mostly momento Mori, communist manifesto, and outlaws, with us ironwrath also having some but not as many and so we can't use that as an excuse at 100% like the other clans in my alliance. Like I said I'm blunt and a straight shooter. Love or hate me, what ya see is what ya get. Lastly our clan and outlaws really needed a mine to try and compete with higher tier clans. If you look on the map some clans (allliances) own a lot of mines. Everyday pvp also tells that story with the gear they have. And mm in our alliance keeps their mine to themselves which is ok. The better gear we can get than maybe better gear you can loot off us if you win in pvp fights in Agon v us. Good fights.
Anyone saying Towers didn't help is tragically miss informed. I've hit hamlets with towers, and they hurt. Especially since you're usually getting zapped by both towers since hamlets are so small. That said, if you declared a siege, and didn't have access to arcane rings, that's a bad call leadership wise. Maybe there were new members involved, but there are vets mixed in that know what towers do, and should know arcane is basically necessary to hit a holding.
I want to say this, and this is absolutely the truth. No matter how heated things get, no how much BS we spew at each other. The darkfall community is the best. --- Post updated --- Had access to arcane necks, and I am sure that would have helped a lot, I was informed the towers were down, and didn't think twice about pushing for rings as well for everybody. My mistake, bad decision, knowing for next time. In the end, had fun.
