Hopefully this short progression guide can help some of the newer players with their "routing" Lemme know if anyone has any questions! and don't forget to get your entries in for the giveaway at the end!
Your videos have been super helpful for a new player like myself. Short, direct and informative. I hope you continue, thanks Wes!
Is it a terrible idea to use meditation to get your heals? That's pretty much what I have been doing now, but wouldn't mind swapping off of it. Good vid btw. The help I need at this point, is how to get enough gold to continue progression and keep meditation going with very little play time. Assume I'll likely join a clan and get more involved once noobie protection is gone. Been so long I don't even remember what I did in the past to make gold. Think I farmed mobs with melee... And at times tried to level spells on mobs that dropped Mostly what I needed for those spells, but was always a bit of a loss, and much slower than other options at the time if you had more cash.
Nice work. I'll add this to the library. @SEOINAGE So the conventional wisdom says only use your precious meditation points on stats because stats are difficult to level. Magic, by comparison, is much easier to level. All you need is some cash for regs and you can blaze through some points in magic. Stats, if you tried to level without meditation, would take a crazy long amount of time and be gruelingly slow. As for gold, as mobs increase in difficultly they often increase in loot. As you get more powerful, you'll be able to kill harder mobs and earn more cash. Also, many of the NPC towns farther away than the newbie ones and the outposts often have quests at them. Some of the ones at outpost can be repeatable and give you more rewards if you kill more things. Also, some dungeons have quests in them that you can pick up from NPCs at the entrances. Explore some of these little spots and talk to the NPCs. You might find something cool.
You are probably correct, although I would swap to stats once I got the couple things done quickly that I wanted, like the heal spells, and go back to stats. Although I thought about taking fire and earth up to 50 to skip the spammable level 1 skill since I only need 1 of those, and instantly go to fireball? Or am I wasting valuable progression on stats? Just figure I could save some coin on skills and reagents.
I think you should just level any offensive spell manually and level other spells with scrolls. It's really fast and efficient to use your scrolls, ESPECIALLY for Lesser Magic heals and transfers! And for leveling your elemental magics I'd just use their associated bolt to get the school where you want it on mid-level monsters so you at least break even on gold cost, throwing in new spells to the mix as they become available if you want to level them.
