What do you think is missing from ROA that would require ppl to play continually?

    PuBG conversion. The MMO aspect and grinds (house, gear, character) have already been tried and tested as we can all see. Take all that shit out and embrace the game for what it truly is

    It's simple to know whats missing but it's hard to fix.

    There is nothing to do day to day. Once your char is done and you have a decent bank sieges are the only content and that takes up a small amount of time you will be playing.

    Not really. Simply increasing the reward for and frequency of village caps would help. Adding a village or hamlet stealing mechanism, and other simple incentives to raid and defend holdings would also be easy.

    I do not think there is a reason to stay and play with or without the proposed changes that BPG has posted. The grind is fine now, much better than DFO, the GUI is great. Its the brutality that is broken. DFO, UW, ROA all suffer from the same flaw. The people that play to grief are insufficient to make the game profitable and the griefers run off the casuals.

    What will fix it? Make the game less brutal.

    • NPC city 100% safe.
    • Auction house.
    • Only center map and islands are lawless.
    • Red is minimum 24 hours plus alignment grind.
    • Bring back race wars.
    • No all race all alignment clans. (pick a fucking side)
    • Make player holding more secure and valuable.
    • Make PVP a clan vs clan, race vs race affair.
    • Let players set there territories to lawful or lawless.
    • Let players craft towers to expand that territory.
    • Let territories collect sales tax and spawn tax.
    • Let towers farm resources.
    • Same alliance killing = X2 alignment lose.
    • Add more progression levels instead of every 25 make damage and skill progress per point.

    Again if you don't need loot whats the point rofl?

    It's like the sele golem. You can't say omg if you just increase the rewards more people will farm it. Because that clearly only works for the EXTREME shortterm.

    @kilrain take note these changes especially the alignment changes / territory changes are on the right track. Darkfall s biggest problem is that the nature of the game is play to crush and the current setup allows the strong to crush the weak too easily.

    real shit to do? only reason me and a group of friends arent playing right now is because the pve is so dogshit and the pvp is just a waiting game and waste of time between fights.

    tons but after nearly 10 years of offering solid suggestions, what makes now a better time? good ideas from me, or other reputable community figures, go largely unnoticed or ignored so why bother?

    and full splash damage or mounts weighing next to nothing?
    DFO had some pretty big flaws on launch too, which ultimately got changed/removed

    Yes lol. There are 2 kinds of players

    1-the people who dont need village cap loot but do it for pvp
    2- the people who need village cap loot but die very easily and cant compete and then stop going.

    UW tried to make villages go live more often, it worked short term but then eventually people got all the loot they needed and stopped going.

    More loot is a short term fix.

    The dichotomy you outlined could easily be true of every competitive aspect of DF. If you actually believe that's true, then what could possibly be the alternative?

    Game needs quest NPCs in player cities, chaos cities, and villages designed for villains (red players). PvE skills, passive and active, that do not affect PvP balance, but add fun and flavor to PvE. More specializations. Add them into the game one at a time, only after the previous spec is balanced. Feats or achievements for PvE with cosmetic rewards. Safe zones may be the best thing for newbies. Even Eve Online has "high sec" space.
