    That's a good idea and it was kind of like that before people decided to change shit.. although you had to mine it yourself.. it didn't just go into a storage.. but was always someone there to get the resources out of the mines and gathering bases set in those certain player run cities.

    You're really not particularly bright are you?

    If you actually read some of my posts on this forum, you'd see that I've actually been arguing for many changes to the game. I argued for grind reduction and compression of the noob vet gap to help get newer players into the game and competitive sooner. Full-loot isn't the issue - the issue WAS the massive grind to even get to a point of viability before you could even stand a chance, and the tedious process of reacquiring gear. Losing a gear set blows. Losing a gear set when you literally had ZERO chance to survive or even escape, for weeks on end, is just bad game design.

    You attack me on forums and spout "hurrr durrr you're fucking stupid" when literally we're on the same side.

    The one thing we simply won't agree on, is full-loot. Full-loot, Open-PvP, is core to Darkfall's premise. I probably lose more gear than I loot and I'm still in full support of full-loot.

    I've also been highly critical of BPG (and Aventurine, and Ub3rgames) in the past, and continue to be critical of BPG and Ub3rgames. There's plenty of fanbois on this forum that think that Darkfall from 2011 was somehow the perfect game and any changes from that automatically made the game worse (can't improve on perfection!).

    The pvp and siege system in this game ALONE is what makes this game great... Full loot is what has ruined it.. You dump full loot and I guarantee a lot more people would jump into this and pvp for the sake of winning.. PERIOD.

    Dump this shit back to the way it was... nerf aoes like av did.. and nerf the mount damage like av did... DUMP FULL LOOT and go from there. You THINK no one will play... but no one is playing now.. so where and what is the risk?

    Also, more world map/mini map elements. We shouldn't have to go on yourmomap or some other sites for some basic knowledge.

    I'm certain that they could fix that, but is it worth the time? That's an engine issue I'm sure, not just a mere bug.

    Also, the trading on a boat issue is tied to opening a trade with a friend and being able to run with unlimited weight. Another engine issue, meaning that the game doesn't consider standing on a boat as "not moving".

    Would we be happy if they spent a few weeks upgrading the game engine with new features like dropping items and graves on a boat? If I remember correctly, it was a few years before WoW fixed that same issue on their boat ferry.

    Arena system within the current game, or the whole game revamped into an Arena game?

    Absolutely worth the devs time.

    I don't think it would require an engine update all the components needed to do it are already there.

    We can already check the distance between two points (possibly one of the most basic and rudimentary elements of a 3D game engine), and we already know when a player is on a ship (otherwise when the ship moved no one would move with it).

    So simply put, if the player is currently on a ship, check the distance between them and their trading partner every Nth server frame. If the distance is greater than the maximum trading distance, close trading window. Else, continue. Could even put in a check for movement so trade window closes if either player moves.

    If they clientsided the distance checks and only validated it on the server once every 2 seconds or something then the server impact would be close to nill.

    As for objects on a ship, they just need to be made a child of the ship. Players already become children of the ship when they get on the helm/cannons.

    ie. you die whilst on a ship your grave is a child of the ship. The game translates global space into local space all the time. Otherwise when moving on a ship in a straight line you'd see people lagging back and forth all the time. But simply put if a player doesn't update their position they will remain in the precise same spot on the deck of a ship unless the ship accelerates/decelerates or turns.

    Graves would be just one more object on the deck of a ship, and because they're a constant with no player input controlling them, they'd only require removal when the grave is fully looted and absolutely no network traffic until then. Every client which loads that ship would be told "there's a grave at position X, Y, Z on this ship, referencing inventory #402044"

    Ride a ship sometime. It's laggy as fuck. People jiggling around constantly. If jet boom jumps on the wheel and flies away, anyone on the ship falls off.

    Notice when a ship is sailing, your walking animation is faster heading to the nose and slower when heading to the tail.

    The same goes for any moving elevator in the game.

    Not saying i necessarily agree with anything that guy said but Murder Herd was rolling around with like 250 people on the first couple months of DF1

    There were so many of them my computer couldnt even load them all at their city. Their mana missiles literally blotted out the sun

    Would be nice to get clans like that back. I'd sacrifice a lot of things i like about DF1 to get more players to stay

    They left because they were the bottom of the food chain and in DFO/RoA there really isn't anything for people in that position to do other than continue to get farmed. Lots of people leave and continue to leave because of that, my first real clan left because of that. There are no custom housing, player painted paintings, cup of dice, playing cards, game boards, player written books, no animal taming, no sandbox plant gardening, no armor/clothing dyes, only limited clothing options, nothing non-combat related that people can find enjoyment in. Everything in DFO/RoA even crafting, is combat related. There are also no creative outlets for players to make cool stuff like people used to in UO with custom houses, cool outfits and fan fiction books. You can't go train up chickens to 'cock fight' with like you could in UO, granted taming like that could never be used in PvP in a game like DFO/RoA. It would just be broken, but PvE sure. Just making 100% safe zones wont change the fact that there still isn't anything to do but PvE in a game with terrible PvE to those players....


    I mean who wouldn't want to be able to hold 'dick painting contest' and 'erotic DF lore fan fiction' conventions in a custom hand crafted and decorated house known as 'The Phallus Palace' where we also holding weekly cock fight tourneys of everyone's ground up chickens. I want non-combat related things that everyone can do and enjoy. Right now the game has nothing but combat, granted its amazing combat... but that is all it has :(

    And that's where the magic of local banking and strict race wars come in

    It makes it harder for vets to naturally consolidate/nutcup if you have to be the same race

    Racial wars and group incentivized pve also promotes good players helping the weak players of their race

    And local banking allows the bottom of the food chain clans to set up shop in areas that are hit by vets less often. In addition the removal of recalls, portals, and instant travel allows for many more fights to occur because the vet raiders will have to manually pack all the loot they got from the first fight onto mules and escort it out which gives the losing clan that owns that territory a chance to converge on the raiders for a second fight

    where as here vets can ninja raid shit clans take their loot run a few feet away, recall, bank the loot, and port back to hit the weak clan again over and over until they are over farmed and quit.


    Most of you guys have no self control. You can't over farm the weaker clans or go there with a force they have no chance against. You have to let them have the numbers advantage and stay there fighting and let them kill you and loot their stuff back sometimes. Often if weaker clans gave me a good fight id stay there until they got me rather than recallimg with the first couple loot bags i got.

    I also would flat out NOT bring certain good people if i thought it would make the target city too easy of a win.

    Most people p!ay to crush though and thats why Darkfall NEEDS rules and structures that limit people from destroying the game. There also needs to be guidelines and incentives to play in a non toxic way. For example a reason for top tier p!ayers to be the good guys who patrol their racial lands or newbie city lands killing griefers and raiders from other races

    When you remove instant travel and add local banking patrols can actually WORK as opposed to now if someone's being a griefing cunt the chances of a white hat being able to find him and dirt nap him before he recalls or banks is basically so low that no one even tries.

    The fact is the more time people spend teleporting in loading screens rather than traveling through the world the LESS opportunities for pvp you will get.

    But you guys are too short sighted and only think about things from an offensive standpoint. You want everyone else to be YOUR content but god forbid you actually have to ride home with your farmed mob loot and potentially become content for someone ELSE, no you just want to 30 second recall.
