Vamp was Vamp on EU before Na x-fers
We had no equals
I meant after you NA gays went back to your homeland and before AV shut down the server
Scrubby bear is a zerg.
Guess not sure what ya wanting to hear, we had 30 to 40 active players and had a really good siege record.
I hope I'm a part of the first mega zerg. Bring back King Manus. I'll stand in formation and everything.
I'll have you know...
1. I was 20 not 10 when Darkfall launched
2. It was a cape
3. I play better without clothes on
Can only hope we have zergs a plenty. Game was at its peak and by far the most immersive when the map looked like a game of risk with big alliances controlling areas.
I'm coming back with a friend and my brother who loved the idea of darkfall but started so late he never could get behind the massive grind to catch up. Hoping to introduce it to my guild currently on uthgard (daoc private server) to it if it's good on launch. That would be another 8-9 friends I could get hooked.
Ya... I can't play with a shirt on, fact.
brutaL will be zerging I'll fill the role of the "vet leading the zerg" should make for an interesting change.
The game being at its peak is debatable, however I will say that the zergs a plenty kinda ruined the population, when the big server wars happened and people lost all their holdings, resources and alliances / clans disbanding it led to people quitting the game.
Really, people quit because they lost all their holdings? You sure it had nothing to do with rampant exploits, poorly designed PvE, buggy as shit gameplay, and the worst company with the worst spokesman in history Tasos?
There are obviously many reasons they stopped playing. There is no denying that there was big dips in population after server wars. It was just one of many reasons.
Good thing is, in Darkfall...zerg's don't always win. Friendly fire makes it hard for them...so, who cares.
Combat loot makes it hard for them.
In fact combat loot makes it hard for lot of people/clans which is fun to see rly , so many greedy players who can't just finish a fight properly with the rest of their crew before going on the graves. How many fights were lost because 20% of your group were more focused on graves instead of remaining ennemies
if you become too much of a big zerg and you interfere in every bodies sieges you will have the server gang up on you, it's like the natural circle of life for darkfall
Yea I think your just wrong. First dip was because of eu transfers it was when the idea of player skill was 1/3rd of the server winning out nunnbered instead of massive fights like the game was originally marketed as.
Second dip was gradual and because content kept getting pushed back.
Then there was the rise of the credit cards in NA where a certain guild had two of the top guilds in retainer and used it to siege smaller guilds out of their cities
Then there was the disasterous xp weekend where everyone maxed in 8 ours.
And the infinite limbo people were left in over wipe vs no wipe.
Population was just 8 guilds of 30ish people each by this point.
Confirmed wipe occurred and population sunk to Sb nMe shadow syndicate alliance Absolution and the ethnical meltingpot called Greater Simiran alliance.
They ain't wrong. There were lots of people in the Hyperion alliance that straight up quit for good when Hyperion lost the war and the few remnants from wessex went to live on Ruby. I had made some friends in wessex and other hyperion clans that never came back to the game after the holdings were lost. The game being a buggy mess with tons of faults just made it easier when holdings were lost and the war was over for those people to call it quits. Wessex had tons of players and one month after the war there was me and like a few more that remained.
Another example is one of the first siege . Ork R us got sieged on zaghuroth and most of them quit when they lost it ( due to a bug yes , i agree that doesn't help but still ).
In general there was just a lot of people&clans that weren't used to a game like that back then who quit over losses.
I just hope the major islands form mega zerg alliances. That was the fun time when Cairn and Ruby were battling back in EU days.
Indeed, coming from one blood to another blood ( at one point) original df launch - island wars were so much fun.
I remember that guy from orks r us, the old SG was spouting off orc RP in /public in silvertown for hours about how he will get Mannus back. Fun times.
