RNG Fizzles should be changed. From what I remember, it was like 3 fizzles in a row every time they came too. So you knew you were likely fucked on your next 2 casts too lmao. It needs to be a more set in stone numbers approach based on encumbrance and debuffs, not RNG.
It definitely didn't work like that. The chance to fizzle was independent for every spell cast. So if it was a 4% chance to fizzle it was always a 4% chance for each individual spell cast.
Ayyye Owyn bb I remember quite well that if you fizzled, you would fizzle a couple times more within that first fizzle. Could've been a bug in code, could've just been my shit luck of always getting 2 or 3 fizzles in a row, but that's how it worked. EDIT, but ill also add, I played as Destroyer for most of my time with full heavy armor. Maybe with more encumbrance it made you fizzle a few times in a row??
Pretty much this, from what i remember and understand it was a set % which increased depending on encumberance. So having 3 fizzles in a row was left up to pure chance.
+1 From the short time I've been on this forum, it seems like one of the key conflicts is between those who want DFO as it was, and those who want DFO to last. There must have been more before/behind this outburst from Skrew though, I mean how can fizzle vs. no fizzle be that important?
I tend to dislike RNG elements of any game, as a general rule. I frankly never got to the point of encountering fizzles alot, but I can agree it needs changed if it's RNG based. Perhaps heavy armor (or armor weight?) reduces spell damage and/or cast time?
I'm not sure if you're joking or not. But in all seriousness, PvP skill has nothing whatsoever to do with a person's capability for game design. Stop using it as a measure of the staff.
