Why such a pain to farm rares?

    Im just gunna throw this out there, i liked UW rares system 100x more. it made a lot more mobs valuable to farm, and the gear economy was more competitive.

    Most of the ore u see today is from mines. kids hitting shit every 10 mins and banking. there is almost no risk involved and no way to actively farm rares for a pop this size.

    need to remove rares off mines, add other shit to holdings to up their value, and spread rare mat drops throughout the world. Golems can be the best source, but shouldnt be the only source for active farming. (and for ffs make selentine less rare then leen)

    You mean the economy where gear basically had no value? Instead of their bullshit essences I would have rather seen rare woods and rare cotton that you could gather. Having a generic rare material like essences in UW or rare ingots in DFO seems silly. Why do all my high end bows require high end ingots instead of wood?

    Even if anything allow any mob to drop sele and viel at a severe low rate like getting a key or a map. Might be interesting for a new player farming 500 goblins to come out with a couple rare ore.

    Would be great is bpg could get around to re buffing normal metal nodes in the world.. Yeahhh that would be great...

    i have never seen an economy where gear had no value. Im totally cool with rare wood/cotton. in fact that was what i was thinking off lol. I used to get rare cloth materials from khamsets for example. A lot of mobs were worth farming for their rare material drops.

    if you remove rares off mines and do something similar, you wont flood the market and gear can retain value. if they justa dd the mats to mobs and leave city nodes then yea, but remove those as a rares source and it should be fine. with a higher pop, u have to remember u dont get as much from active farming. u have to compete for spawns and share them more. anyway it can be balanced to set whatever gear value u want, the point is the concept of active vs pasive being ur source of rares.

    Rares from City mines already fucked everything AFAIC

    Would have been great if City Mines just dropped rares at the same rate as regular nodes OR

    Even better if rare ore ONLY came from golems and randomly very rarely occurring visually different veins/nodes in specific areas like mountains

    I would have also LOVED to see gems actually be super rare and valuable/useful and there have been a "Prospecting" specialized profession unlocked after reaching 100 mining mastery that helped you narrow down rare gem/ore locations and helped you retrieve better quality gems (chipped ruby, flawed ruby, flawless ruby, perfect ruby)

    For example ONLY a specialized prospector could have a chance to mine a "perfect" gem. And gems could be used to make specialised rings/amulets that have higher durability and "base stats". For example a ring made with a "perfect" ruby could give a massive extra 30hp (+standard arcane protection) that IGNORES the HP cap, has double the durability, AND can still be enchanted like any other ring.

    Of course that would take actual developer work

    It's NOT that golems drop too little rare ore its that everyone is spoiled and too much comes from easy/semi afk activities

    I don't know if it was changed later on but initially when you harvested anything you could get generic essences that could be crafted into any kind of material. The essences weren't exactly rare either especially when people were AFK harvesting them in safezones a ton at the start.

    They removed essences from safe zones and had danger levels, farther out is higher danger and higher chance of harvesting essences from nodes. Later they added mobs dropping the components to make rare cloth/wood/iron and essences were removed i think? I was thinking of that era.

    I don't care what they do in terms of drop rates as long as they make the rares evenly spread throughout the world. As long as you have the bulk coming from city mines, you're going to have a major division between the haves and the have nots. And that's a recipe for disaster.
