Seems to me people just want a reason to play the game. You think a wipe will fix it, but it won't. You can max bank and character in a month+ (from what I hear). Questing is abysmal, player interaction is ... non-existent aside from who you're in a clan with. Why did people stick around for so long? The PvP, and it was changed irreparably a year or so ago. So what's left? Honestly? I come back every couple of months or so to a "baradron update" news board and patches which have... nothing of note. My point is, this is a private server, it's great that it's still around, but everyone is on the forums trying to "fix the game". The game doesn't/didn't need to be fixed. Why couldn't it have just been kept alive and promoted? Maybe increase the GFX a bit, add more events, add some cool different content. etc. Instead, there were 2 bad changes for every great addition, and it bogged the game down to the point is now... a game no one wants to log-in to. I long for the day that the game has a reason to log-in for, with a couple hundred regulars willing to get it in. I'll end the rant, I'm curious though... how many people play now? 50? No, seriously. 30? I know maplestory/runescape/RYL/MU/guild wars/everquest servers with 300 real players concurrent. Go look at Xtreme top 100 and select any random game. I'm a nerd, I grew up playing F2P MMORPG's back when 10 were released every year, and many of them would end up with popular private servers. Pretty neat, but I wonder why Darkfall wasn't given that chance. Probably business reasons, NDA, etc... oh well. Offline now, cya in december. Hopefully this coronavirus bullshit ends soon. You misunderstood. I know a wipe would set this game back to square one. Also your Dragon representation at the siege goes to show how useless Dragon is for its price compared to infernal,,not how hard it is to get.
I dont think anyone is asking for a naked wipe. Improve eco, reintroduce long term character progression, and then wipe. that way it will take a couple of years for us to end up in the same situation, giving bpg a couple of years to make new content for when people reach max characters.
I'm just sitting here watching people finally catch on to the economy/progression issues I was warning about over 4 full years ago, before the game even launched. I wonder if I should necro one of those posts. I don't even get the satisfaction of saying I TOLD YOU SO, because most of the 100 IQ at best midwits that argued against me are either long gone, or their guppy brains "forgot' in order to shield their egos from being blatantly wrong.

I'm trying to make the game worth playing, and I have been since early 2016. Go back and read my threads from 2016 you'd be astonished how accurate they were. In 2016 I told BPG exactly what the problems were, how to fix them with minimal dev time/$, and what would happen (and when) if they didn't fix it BEFORE launch. dude... the current game is more broken then DF1.. because of bpg.. you really think that they are capable of doing anything substantial after 2 years of roa? either play the game for what is or leave it alone
Those numbers are so low, why not try lower if you're gonna put no effort in? My clan alone has 60-70 active accounts at first estimates.

DF is the most fun the first couple months when everyone is pvping in crap gear scrounging for loot lol. Even with the terrible start that this had with all this issues it was still a blast the first few months. I'd definitely go balls to the walls again if they wiped it hell yea!
While i would enjoy a wipe i understand why BPG wouldn't do it. So i'll play devil's advocate and bring up what i believe to be valid concerns. 1. How would they handle previous micro-transaction purchases? 2. What would happen to all of the things we've spent our money on? Runebooks,Chests,Tools,Game Time Tokens Etc (Some people have these saved) 3. It's a logistical and financial nitemare for them to even think about. Would they refund all of our nithron coins for these items? What would it mean for the game economy, how bad would it hurt profits? 4. If a wipe was incoming why would anyone pay for anything until it happened? Again, just devil's advocate id love to hear responses for these concerns.
If they wiped everything right now we'd be right back to where we are currently in not even a month. It would take probably a week for everyone to max their characters.
what are the downsides of transferring all purchased items to new characters after a wipe? i don't know how feasible it is from a dev standpoint, but if it's possible then i don't see any reason why previous micro-transactions would preclude a wipe.
Improve new player experience Wipe Launch on steam I believe it would be the way to go Improving textures to make it look a bit like UW would prolly help too but I believe it would be a long process. I didnt play in years but Id def come back if the game ''relaunched'' and had a healthy population
